The Princess Royal Stand - Cheltenham Racecourse

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal opened Cheltenham Racecourse’s new centrepiece grandstand in November 2015. 

The stand, which adopts the name of the Princess herself, was the final part of a £45million redevelopment of the course; five and a half stories comprising bars, toilets, restaurants, private boxes, royal box and viewing facilities for racegoers. 

The new stand has a very large cantilever canopy with a Kalzip standing seam roof, and an Alucobond aluminium fascia and soffit. The project also included Alucobond aluminium column and beam encasements throughout the various viewing levels, which AbiCAD were involved in developing the complex aluminium shapes by utilising Solidworks 3D software.
